Pelican's Pick N Pluck foam lets you customize the interior to give a firm, but padded grip around whatever you choose to put in it. To prevent lockup there is an automatic purge valve for quick equalization of pressure from changes in atmospheric pressure. As far as durability goes, it is a Pelican case, and is further mil spec and NATO codified so it can handle as much if not more than you.
